The Journal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems
(JAMES), a new
international journal reporting on all aspects of Earth System Modeling, is open
for submissions. The journal contains sections for Research Articles, Short
Topics, Review Articles, and a special section for articles on Policy and
Science Education related to climate science. JAMES maintains high standards of
formal
peer review, and provides authors the option to
participate in the open discussion forum, The Journal of Advances in Modeling
Earth Systems Discussion
(JAMES-D),
while their manuscript undergoes formal peer review.JAMES showcases leading-edge research on Earth System Modeling in such areas as atmospheric and oceanic circulations on multiple scales, radiation, cloud physics, boundary layer and land surface processes, the biosphere and cryosphere, biogeochemical cycles, and the development of numerical methods for Earth science. JAMES is an open access journal, so everyone with internet access can read and download articles at no cost. Authors retain full copyright under the Creative Commons Attribution License. The authors of articles accepted for publication in the peer review journal are asked to pay minimal fees to cover typesetting costs for full text PDF, HTML and XML production. Authors are encouraged to submit supplemental material, such as visualizations, code and color illustrations, all of which are published at no additional cost. Authors have the option to post their original submission manuscript to the discussion forum, JAMES-D, free of charge. JAMES is accepting original research that advances the state of the science of climate modeling and numerical weather prediction. Direct your submission to james-d.org. From development work advancing climate modeling, to coupling across land and ocean surfaces, to modeling at multiple scales, read the best papers - JAMES. Look for JAMES at the CMMAP booth during the 2008 fall AGU meeting in San Francisco!
