Construction update
(12/23/08)
Construction began on April 2 for the new Atmospheric Science West building,
which will be occupied by CMMAP beginning in early 2009.
It will provide much needed office space for directors, researchers, staff,
students and CMMAP visitors and interns plus provide CMMAP and the Colorado
State University Atmospheric Science community with a smart conference room
and a multi- purpose / seminar room.
A new computer room is planned somewhere on-site to support the increasing
need for high performance computing equipment and disk space.

Construction Updates
Strong winds blew out a temporary window on the west side of the new building
allowing near-record low temperatures that weekend night to enter the lower
floor. Temporary heaters were unable to keep up and the boiler, water heater
and numerous pipes and pumps were damaged. The move-in date has been moved
back, probably to mid-February.
Drywalling is almost complete and the network wiring is ongoing. You may notice
trees, shrubs and grasses as well as the masonry work on the patios is complete.
Native grass will be planted in the spring.
